Design trends: Pink is Back!

Guess who’s back….  Back again….  PINK IS BACK….  Tell your friends! (not sure why, but since I had the idea to write this post the real slim shady has been banging in my head)

Ok, I am both excited and terrified to see that pastel pink…..  (Turquoise and pastels) are coming back into trend.  Apparently 70 years is what it takes for us to forget the bathrooms that were notoriously fully tiled in pastels, with matching toilets and sinks!?

About 10 months ago I was working with a client on a three-bathroom remodel.  The materials that she was interested in were mostly pastel pink and turquoise.  It shocked me!  Immediately a memory of grandmother’s bathroom flashed in my mind.  But when looking further into the materials I must admit I was fully committed!  Hear me out.

Interior design is incredible, we have trends rolling in and out constantly.  Some stick around longer than others (thank goodness) but what’s even more exciting is watching the past styles get modernized.  I first imagined matte and monotoned pastels (like 1950’s era) however the trend is elevated!

They are now iridescent and have variation in hues, shapes, and sizes!  Needless to say, I have been obsessed for the past 10 months pitching it to all my clients.  Unfortunately, I have a low success rate.

So here I am, laying it out there for all of you.  Screaming from the rooftop!  Please, take my hand, jump on this pink and pastel bandwagon with me.  It’s going to be amazing! The options are limitless!
